Renowned Cardiologist C N Manjunath overwhelmed with 'Padmashree'

Bangalore, Jan 26 (UNI) Renowned Cardiac Surgeon and State owned Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology Director Dr C N Manjunath was overwhelmed on being awarded 'Padmashree' in recognition of his contribution made in the field of Cardiac surgery and for evolving new technique which was named after him as 'Manjunath Technique'.

In his reaction to UNI, Dr Manjunath said that " I am very much delighted after hearing the news".

Dr Manjunath, who has excelled in conducting precision Cardiac Surgery in Balloon Metrology has contributed in reduction of cost of surgery by 45 per cent and the success rate was increased from 88 per cent to 99 per cent.

The Institute had conducted over 2500 angio-plastry surgery and another 9000 antio-blastings during 2006. Under the stewardship of Dr Manjunath over Rs 10 Crore has been collected as donations from various organisations to help the patients coming from lower income strata.
