Priority for tourism, industry development in Aurangabad: Patil

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Jan 26 (UNI) Maharashtra Finance and Planning Minister Jayant Patil today said the Democratic Front (DF) has accorded priority for the development of tourism and industry in the historic city of Aurangabad.

Addressing a gathering at the Devagiri Ground after hoisting the National Tricolour on the occasion of 58th Republic Day Celebrations at the official function here, Mr Patil said the state government was committed towards the all round development of Aurangabad, headquarter of the economically backward Marathwada region.

Mr Patil said traditions like child marriages, child labour are the hurdles in the path of progress and exhorted the need for complete eradication of the same.

The Finance Minister also expressed concern over the rising population and asked for initiatives to halt the rise.

Member of Parliament Chandrakant Khaire, Divisional Commissioner Sanjay Kumar, Inspector General of Police (Special) Bhagwantrao More, District Collector Vikas Kharge and City Police Chief Uddhav Kamble were present on the occasion.
