Mother-daughter killed in a fire mishap in UP

Lucknow, Jan 26 (UNI) A mother and her infant daughter were killed and ten other members of the family received burn injury when a short circuit led to a fire in a house in Allahabad today.

Police sources here said that the incident occured at Himatganj locality in the city and the mother- Rita Srivastava- died while she tried to save her one and half year old daughter Bhumi.

The fire originated from a ground floor electric shop due to a short circuit, the sources said.

The injured have been admitted to the local hospital.
