Procession ends with Chandra Prabha Vahanam

Tirumala, Jan 26: Lord Malayappaswamy Varu was taken out on procession in seven vahanams on the auspicious Rathasapthami day and concluded with Chardra Prabha Vahanam tonight.

The procession was taken around the four mada streets of the temple between 2000 hrs and 2100 hrs.

In the morning, the processional diety, richly decorated and adorned with rare precious jewels was bedecked atop the Surya Prabha Vahanam, the first vahanam (vehicle) of the day, as the event symbolised the Charioteer Anurudu(sun) taming the seven horse, taken out in a procession through four mada streets of the temple.

Thousands of devotees offered prayer to the Lord.

Later, the Utsav diety was taken procession on Chinna Sesha Vahanam, Garuda, Hanumantha, Kalpavriksha, Sarvabhoopala Vahanams during the day.

Chakarasnanam (Lord disc dipped in the temple holy tank) was also performed in the day.

Cultural and religious programmes were conducted by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTD) at Asthana Mandapam in Tirumala during the festival.
