Indian Republic Day celebrated in Colombo

Colombo, Jan 26: Newly appointed Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Alok Prasad today hoisted the National Flag at India House here on the occasion of the 58th Republic Day.

A large gathering of eminent people and Indian community living here were present on the occasion.

The High Commissioner also read out the Republic Day speech made by President of India A P J Abdul Kalam last night.

Local newspapers carried supplements to mark the day.
