4 Telugu film personalities enter Guinness Book

Hyderabad, Jan 26: It is amazing but true. Four Telugu film personalities have found a place in the prestigious Guinness Book of World Records.

Dr Dasari Narayana Rao, who directed 148 films, Dr D Rama Naidu, who produced 100 films, Dr S P Bala Subrahmaniam who sang 10,000 songs and director Vijaya Nirmala who directed fifty films established the prestigious record.

Talking at the week-long Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of the Telugu Film Industry being organised by the Andhra Pradesh Government from yesterday, Dr Dasari Narayana Rao revealed the fact.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Narayana Rao said once when the Hindi film industry was producing 20 films, Telugu and Tamil industries together produced 18 films. When the Hindi Industry produced 45 films, the Telugu Industry alone produced 60 films and when the Hindi Industry produced 80 films, the Telugu Industry produced 120 to 150 films.

Dr Rao said only Congress Governments were responsible for the shifting of the Telugu industry from Chennai to Hyderabad. Of the 75 years of the existence of the Telugu film industry, Congress Governments played an active role in shifting the industry to Hyderabad for 42 years.

He recalled the services of Congress Chief Ministers Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy, Kasu Brahmananda Reddy, Jalagam Vengala Rao, Marri Chenna Reddy and others for shifting of the Telugu film industry to Hyderabad.
