Development would be visible in Bihar:Governor

Patna, Jan 26 (UNI) Listing the initiatives of Bihar government for the state's over all growth Governor R S Gavai said development would become visible as the condition of the people improve.

Unfurling the tricolour on the occasion of 58th Republic day celebrations at the historic Gandhi Maidan here today, Mr Gavai said the state government had taken several steps for development of Bihar and added the law and order situation had also improved.

He lauded the efforts of the government for decentralisation of power, empowerment of women, for bringing the oppressed sections in the main stream of the society and for improving the conditions of raods, electricity and water saying these steps would bring Bihar back on the developmental track.

Mr Gavai said knowledge was the greatest power and resource in the era of globalisation and liberalisation. Realising the importance of education the state government was appointing teachers to enhance the teacher's pupil ratio and making it at par with the national average of 1:40.

It had also given special attention to technical education for which Chanakya National university, a branch of BIT Mesra, Nalanda International University, communication centres, medical colleges and other such institutes would be set up in the state through public private and partcipation.

The bill for Nalanda International University would be moved in the coming session of the Assembly, he added.
