Committee to study problems facing film industry: Minister

Hyderabad, Jan 26 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Ambarish today said the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government was committed to solve the problems faced by the film industry in the county.

Inagurating the 'Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Telugu Film Industry' organised by the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce here, Mr Ambarish said the centre has constituted a high power committee to study the problems facing by the film industry. It would come out with solutions to make the Indian film industry a global competitor and a biggest industry in the world, he added.

Stating that the Telugu film industry was producing more films after Bollywood, he said the film industry should adopt professionalism to achieve the global standards by utilising the latest digital technology.

Most of the Indian films were being selected for International awards and film festivals, the minister said adding that the Telugu Film industry was an amalgamation of Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi film industries.

On the occasion, the organisers felicitated Dadasaheb Palke awardee A Nageshwar Rao, Super star Krishna, veteran film Director Vishawanath, Producer D Rama Naidu among others.

State Governor Rameshwar Thakur, Union Minister of State for Mines T Subbirami Reddy, Tamil super star Rajanikanth and others participated in the programme.
