Central Zone lifts Inter Zone Championship

Mysore, Jan 26 (UNI) Central Zone defeated East Zone by 142 runs to lift the All India Inter Zone Cricket tournament trophy here today.

Put to bat first Central Zone, with superb century by Jayasharma (102, 132 balls 10 x 4) and skipper Mithaliraj (92) piled up 249 runs for eight in the allotted 50 overs.

Chasing winning target of 250 runs, East Zone were bundled out for 107 for five in 50 overs.

In another match South Zone registered 89 run victory over North Zone.
