Body of youth recovered from river Jhelum
Srinagar, Jan 26:Police today said they have recovered the body of a labourer from river Jhelum.
They said Maisuma police station received a report from Abdul Aziz Khan stating his son Mohammad Yaqoub Khan, working as a labourer at the Badshah bridge on the banks of the river Jhelum, had gone missing on January 22.
Accordingly a signal was flashed to all the police stations and other agencies across the Kashmir valley regarding the incident.
Yesterday, troops of 52 Rashtriya Rifles brought a body to the Pattan police station.
The body was later identified as that of Mohammad Yaqoub Khan. A case has been registered in this regard and investigations launched into the incident.
The Nowgam police also received a report that Shaheen Ahmed Naik, a resident of Ahlan Zadora, Kokernag in Anantnag district, had gone missing from Chakpora, Nowgam area.
Police have launched a search to trace him.
