Blair says talking to Bush and others on Doha
DAVOS, Switzerland, Jan 26 (Reuters) British Prime Minister Tony Blair today said he had talked to US President George W Bush and other world leaders in recent days in a bid to inject new life into the stalled Doha Round of trade talks.
''I think there is every chance this will get underway again,'' he told a panel at the World Economic Forum. ''If it fails it will be far worse than many politicians realise.'' Blair said he had also spoken to German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and was prepared to take whatever steps were needed to get the global trade negotiations back on track.
