Vatal stages walkout over non-implementation of Mahajan report

Bangalore, Jan 25 (UNI) Kannada Cheluvali Vatal Paksha leader Vatal Nagaraj today staged a walk out during the Governor's address to the Joint Session demanding implementation of Mahajan Commission on border issue, implementation of Nanjundappa Report on removing regional imbalance and withdrawal of helmet rule among others.

Mr Nagaraj got up immediately as soon the Governor began his address and waved a big black flag. He also said that his party would call for a Railway bandh on February 11 in support of the above demands.

Mr Nagaraj's list of 14 demands included the demand for classical language status for Kannada, setting up of a permanent building for holding sessions in Belgaum and development programmes for the new districts.
