ULFA rocks Asom with blasts
Guwahati, Jan 25 (UNI) The ULFA today rocked the entire state with another round of evening blasts on the eve of the Republic day celebration, killing two and injuring at least eight.
There were blasts at Guwahati, Rangia and Barhapjan, while IED was recovered from Lakhimpur.
The Army arrested six mid-level ULFA militants, who were produced before the media.
In the fast paced development, the latest blast came from Ganeshguri, the third one in last eight days. But there was no casualty.
The Ganeshguri, a busy market place of Guwhati city, is the most favourite spot for bombing as it is very close to Dispur, the seat of power of the Asom Government.
The other blasts took place at Rangia, about 40 km from here where one was killed and five were injured.
Meanwhile, a bomb carrier was killed when the bomb went off accidentally near Barhapjan on the National Highway 37 in Tinsukia district.
In yet another development a bomb was recovered near Lakhimpur main market, which was programmed to be exploded tomorrow.
A tea garden labour died in a crossfire between Bru militants and security foces.
