Two arrested with 6.5 qtls poppy straw

Jammu, Jan 24 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Police today siezed 6500 kilograms poppy straw from a truck and arrested two persons at Jammu-Kashmir National Highway at Batote in Doda district, offficial sources said here.

Police said a truck, which was on its way from Srinagar to Jammu, was intercepted by police at Tringla Batote and recovered six and half qtls poppy straw from the truck. The truck driver and his associate were arrested and the truck seized.

An FIR has been registered in Police station Batote, sources added.
