Traffic restrictions for R-Day Parade

New Delhi, Jan 25 (UNI) Delhi Police has put in place traffic restrictions for the Republic Day Parade tomorrow, advising commuters to desist from using specific routes to be used by marching contingents between 0900-1230 hrs to avoid any inconvenience.

Even as the parade starts at 0945 hrs, routes through which it passes would be closed to 'all traffic'' between 0900-1230 hrs until it reaches the Red Fort, Jt Commissioner (Traffic) Qamar Ahmad said.

People have been advised to not use Vijay Chowk, Rafi Marg, Janpath, Man Singh Road, I G Stadium, Tilak Marg and Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg between 0900-1230 hrs.'' ''The general public can instead use the Ring Road, Mathura Road, Bhairon Road, Subramanium Bharti Marg, Aurobindo Road, safdarjung Road, Kamal Ataturk Marg, Panchsheel Marg, Kautilya Marg, Mother Teresa Cresent Road, Mandir Marg, Rani Jhansi Road, Boulevard Road, Shraddhanand Marg, Naya Bazar, Pili Kothi, Pul Mithai and S P Mukherjee Marg,'' he said.

For bus commuters, 13 special terminus have been set up where buses would terminate. They are at Udhyog Bhawan, Sunehri Bagh Road, Tyagraj Marg, Park Street, Aram Bagh Road, Kamla Market Roundabout, Delhi Sachivalaya, Pragati Maidan, Hanuman Mandir, Nigam Bogh Ghat, Budh Vihar ISBT, Mori Gate, and Sarai Kale Khan ISBT.

Besides, Metro Rail Service would be restricted to and from Connaught Place.

Access to hospital, railway stations and bus terminus have been kept open via detour and people have been requested to cooperate with the Traffic Police, UNI NR MIR RAI2022
