Security tightened at Tiruchirapalli

Tiruchirapalli, Jan 25: Tight security arrangements have been made in and around Tiruchirapalli city for the Republic Day celebrations tomorrow.

State Intelligence Service (IS) sources said that armed police men were posted at all vital installations as a precautionary measure.

Similarly, security was tightened at all historic temples and other places of worship in the district.

Devotees were frisked and their baggages thoroughly screened with Door Frame Metal Detectors (DFMD) and hand-held metal detectors at the entrances of the temples.

The Government Railway Police (GRP) in coordination with the Railway Protection Force (RPF) had made elaborate security arrangements in all railway stations.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) was maintaining a round-the-clock vigil at the airport complex here.
