Patna, Jan 25 (UNI) Dubbing the Apex Court's observation on the IXth schedule as 'unjustified and anti-poor', JD(U) National President Sharad Yadav today urged the Centre to convene an all-party meeting to rectify the anomalies in the schedule.

Mr Yadav told mediapersons here that the schedule was for the benefit and welfare of the weaker sections of the society and opening a new chapter, after 60 years, by the judiciary was 'unjustified'.

''The Centre should immediately convene a meeting on the matter as the voice of the poor will be supressed if the case was reviewed,'' Mr Yadav said.

The judiciary had full liberty to handle issues related with people's safety and security but no right to interfere in the functioning of a government or any admnistration, he added.

Mr Yadav said wide land reform was possible because of the provisions in the schedule, in which about 250 acts of total 284 were related to the land and its arrangement.

He said in case of any anomaly in the schedule, the Parliament would correct it by calling an all-party meeting.
