Prisoners go on hunger strike

Samastipur (Bihar), Jan 25 (UNI) At least five prisoners in Samastipur Divisional Jail launched fast unto death agitation in protest against alleged torture of jail officials on the inmates.

The agrieued prisoners had earlier prayed for justice to Chief Judicial Magistrate S.Ansari complaining of inhuman behaviour allegedly metted out on them by jail officials, official sources said.

Efforts were on to persuade the fasting prisoners to call off their agitation, sources added.

UNI
