Nitish launches special schemes for rickshaw pullers
Patna, Jan 25 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today launched a special scheme called "Samman" for the rickshaw pullers of the state. While distributing 55 rickshaws, each costing Rs 14000, Mr Kumar said these vehicles were unique as they were laced with security measures along with entertainment facilities like the FM band radio and newspapers. These rickshaws were also equipped with first aid facility, he added.
He said the scheme, which became a reality with the co-operation of the Dena bank, would certainly improve the life of rickshaw pullers.
Mr Kumar lauded the efforts of Mr Irfan, a student of IIM Ahmedabad-- the brain behind these unique rickshaws, and appealed to the students studying outside the state to use their talent for Bihar's devlopment.
