MPD 2021 will provide relief from sealing and demolition:CM

New Delhi, Jan 25 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today expressed confidence that the proposed 2021 Master Plan would provide much desired relief from sealing and demolition to people of Delhi while also ensuring a planned development of the capital in the future.

''The new Master Plan has been finalised after long brain-storming discussions and includes 90 per cent suggestions given by the Delhi Government,'' Ms Dikshit said while addressing the public at a state-level Republic Day function here.

Addressing the function, where Ms Dikshit Sheila Dikshit took salute of the parade and unfurled the National Flag, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that people would get much desired relief from sealing and demolition and Delhi would see planned development in future.

Ms Dikshit said that a scheme for regularisation of unauthorised colonies was in shape now for implementation.

Contingents of Delhi Police, three wings of the NCC, Home Guard, Civil Defence, Delhi Fire Service, and schoolchildren took part in the parade, led by ACP Delhi Police P Karunakaran.

Ms Dikshit inspected the parade in a decorated jeep.

In an investiture ceremony organised as part of the Republic Day celebrations, the Chief Minister awarded 'Uttam Jivan Rakshak Padak' to DTC Driver Kuldeep Singh, who lost his eyes while making an attempt to save valuable lives of people by throwing away explosives planted by terrorists in a DTC bus.

Ms Dikshit also awarded medals to seven best NCC cadets, junior and senior under officers and Cadet under officers on this occasion.

Present at the celebrations, where Delhi schoolchildren presented a colourful programme, were the ministers of the Delhi Cabinet, leader of the Opposition in the Delhi legislative Assembly Jagdish Mukhi, MLAs, Chief Secretary of the Delhi Government and other senior officers.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister declared implementation, with immediate effect, of the Delhi Government decision to extend the retirement age upto 62 years.
