Modi inaugurates effluent pipeline and ethanol plant at Surat
Surat, Jan 25 (UNI) In a bid to boost environmental protection in the state, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the construction of a effluent pipeline and layed the foundation for the construction of an ethanol plant here.
The first project involves a dedicated 13 kilometer long effluent pipeline which will be constructed at a cost of Rs 131 crore at the highly industrialised Ankaleshwar area in the diamond city.
''The project will be a major step in ensuring a clean environment in this industrial area. My Government is committed to the cause of environmental cleanliness and the Nirmal Gujarat project is launched by me to promote a clean environment in the state,'' Mr Modi said.
The other project, wherein Mr Modi layed the foundation for the ethanol plant, is constructed by the Pandwai Sahkari Bank at the Pandwai area.
Earlier in the day, he has also inaugurated the Swaraj Bhavan at Jambusara area and released a book published by the directorate of information.
