Kerala Science Congress from Jan 29
Kozhikode, Jan 25: About 750 delegates are expected to take part in the 19th Kerala Science Congress beginning at Kannur, near here from January 29.
Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan would inaugurate the three-day event jointly organised by the Kannur University and Centre for Water Sources Development and Management, Kozhikode, Science Congress chairman R V G Menon and CWRDM executive director E J James told reporters here yesterday.
ISRO chairman G Madhavan Nair would deliver Prof P R Pisharody Memorial lecture, organised as part of the event.
Apart from presentation of papers by experts, the event would have a special theme session 'Paddy Cultivation in Kerala' which would discuss mainly development of rice farming in the state, they said.
Sixteen school children from the state, who have won prizes in national level science competitions in the last year, would be special invitees to the Congress, they added.
