JETIX characters to perform live on Republic day

Kolkata, Jan 25 (UNI) Masked characters with frightful faces power packed with violent action scenes on television's most popular toon 'JETIX', the 'power rangers', will perform live in the city on the occasion of Republic day.

This is not any Hollywood action flick but an animated high octane adventure series by world Disney which cater to children aged 4-14.

'Power Ranger' Dino Thunder as a part of JETIX LIVE, performed here yesterday in presence of kids who were thrilled to see their favourite blue, black, red and yellow rangers performing and playing right in front of them.

World Disney Corporate Communication Associate Director (India) K Seshasaye said it had been their endeavour to provide superlative brand and entertainment to all the kids.

''We have been doing some shows in about 140 countries and this time we want to give the Indian fans a special treat,'' he said.

He further said the next live performance would be a jambooree with plenty of adventure and fun in the city, on the Republic Day.

Asked upon their favourite toon characters, most of the children chorused Power Rangers, whose animated action heroes fight evil on screen. But at the same time a phenomenal change has also been witnessed as the children tend to imitate the action of their favourite heroes.

Dr Trupti Sinha, a mother of two said, she had found her kids imitating the characters and assaulting each other at times. ''They sometimes get violent and aggressive,'' she added.

However, many had a different opinion saying that there children have become brave. ''They are no more afraid of the dark and are learning to distinguish between good and bad. And above all we rest assured that they are at least not watching obscene pictures that dominates the idiot box,'' a parent said.
