Jamaath criticize govt on reservation issue
Puducherry, Jan 25: The Thowheed Jamaath here criticised the territorial administration's failure to take follow-up action on the unanimous resolution adopted in the assembly on February 27 last year, to provide separate reservation for Muslims.
Jamaath Vice-President A Peer Mohammed, addressing a press conference here today said a legislation should have been enacted to ensure the reservation.
To press the demand and draw the attention of the Central and State Governments, Muslims in all the four regions of the Union Territory, along with their family members would gather here on February 27 this year, he informed.
On that day, the Muslims would take out a procession through the main thoroughfares of the town and organise a seminar in which leaders from Tamil Nadu would take part. A memorandum would be submitted to Chief Minister N Rangasamy after the conclusion of the seminar, he added.
