IAF pilot believed dead in plane crash

Morena (MP), Jan 25: Indian Air Force Pilot M M Tripathi, who was flying the ill-fated Mirage-2000 that crashed at Bara village in Morena district last night, is believed to have been killed as pieces of flesh were strewn along with debris at the crash site, police said today.

''IAF personnel have cordoned of the crash site about 60 Km west of Gwalior and search for the black box is continuing'', police sources said.

The Mirage aircraft, which took off from Maharajpur airbase here, was on a routine night-flying mission when the accident occured around 2030 hours, IAF spokesman said.

This is the fourth such incident involving Mirage aircrafts in Gwalior region in the past two years. Earlier, Mirage planes had crashed at Bijora area in Gwalior district, Malanpur area in Bhind district and Paharganj area in Morena district.
