Hoshangabad to become 'Narmadapuram'

Hoshangabad, MP, Jan 25 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today announced that this town, situated on the Narmada river's bank, would be renamed Narmadapuram.

''The Narmada 'parikrama' (circumambulation) route will be paved,'' he said at the Narmada Jayanti Utsav 2007 organised at Sethani Ghat. Mr Chouhan also laid the foundation stone for development work worth Rs 4.12 crore.

Among those present was Bharatiya Janata Party MP and former union minister Sushma Swaraj.
