Have courage to think different, invent: Kalam exhorts people

New Delhi, Jan 25 (UNI) Exhibiting his penchant for writing poems, President A P J Kalam today delivered his Republic Day message in the form of a verse composed on the theme of courage.

Following is the poem titled ''Courage to Give'' which was part of his customary address to the nation on the eve of the Republic Day: Courage to think different, Courage to invent, Courage to discover the impossible, Courage to travel into an unexplored path, Courage to share the knowledge, Courage to remove the pain, Courage to reach the unreached, Courage to combat the problems, And Succeed, Are the unique qualities of the youth.

As a youth of my nation, I will work and work with courage to achieve success in all my missions.

Before reading out the poem, Dr Kalam said that when the nation marched towards its missions, many challenges would come in the way.

Describing the poem as his ''message of courage,'' he said courage was a very important trait for all sections of the society in overcoming these challenges, he said and went on to narrate an incident on June 8, 2006 when he was on a flight of Su-30-MKI.

At the end of the 40-minute flight, the President said he was asked by a young man whether he was afriad anytime during the flight.

Dr Kalam said he told the young man that all through the flight he was busy with the flight operations and did not have time to allow the fear to enter him.
