Goa Assembly approves Lok Ayukta Bill

Panaji, Jan 25 (UNI) The Goa Legislative Assembly today adopted a Bill providing for appointment of Lok Ayukta to check corruption at higher places.

It has, however, referred the Goa Information Technology Development Bill and The Goa Legislative Diploma(Amendment) Bill to select committees.

The House also adopted the Goa Panchayat Raj(Amendment) Bill which provides for appointment of civil administrators for Panchayats whose election could not be held this month-end.

The House also approved the Goa Vexatious Litigation(Prevention) Bill to check unnecessary litigation by certain individuals without any reason.

Another Bill amending the Prisons Act, 1894 so as to frame a jail manual, was also approved by the House.
