Flights from AP airport cancelled due to poor visibility

Visakhapatnam, Jan 25 (UNI) For the sixth consecutive day today, all flights from here were cancelled due to poor visibility.

Airport sources said as thick smog engulfed the runway, the flights had to be cancelled.

Union Minister of State for Mines T Subbirami Reddy had assured the problem would be solved once the instrument landing system (ILS) became operational at the airport in March.

In a release, Mr Reddy said he held discussions with Airport Authority of India (AAI) Chairman K Ramalingam on the issue in Delhi wherein he was assured the ILD and other facilities would be operational by March.
