Five injured in rival NSCN inter-factional clash

Kohima, Jan 25 (UNI) Five persons including a civilian, were injured in a fierce gunbattle between rival factions of NSCN at Chumukedima in Nagaland's Dimapur district.

Official sources said the clash occurred yesterday when some NSCN (K) cadres moving in two vehicles were chased by the NSCN-IM cadres at Chumukedima, near the house of former Nagaland Chief Minister and present Goa Governor S C Jamir, which followed a fierce gun battle, leaving three NSCN-IM and one NSCN (K) cadres injured.

One civilian, who was also in that vicinity, was hit by a stray bullet and was taken to a Dimapur Civil Hospital for treatment.
