DUTA, DUCKU on daylong strike
New Delhi, Jan 25 (UNI) Members of the Delhi University Teachers Association (DUTA) and Delhi University and College Karamcharis Union (DUCKU) observed daylong strike today to press for their demands.
They alleged that the Government as well as the University administration were ''insensitive'' to their demands.
DUTA president Amar Deo Sharma said the University administration is unwilling to redress the grievances of the employees.
''The University imposing a wage cut on striking karamcharis is not an issue of the karamchari's alone... It is a threat to the democratic fabric of the university,'' he added.
DUTA has intervened to persuade the Vice Chancellor to withdraw this ''order''.
