Cheney says Hillary Clinton not good for President

Washington, Jan 25: US Vice President Dick Cheney today saidSen Hillary Rodham Clinton would not make a good president -- becauseshe is a Democrat.

The New York senator and former first lady is hoping to be thefirst American woman to become president, competing in a field of atleast eight candidates seeking the Democratic nomination for 2008election.

Cheney, asked in an interview on CNN whether Clinton would make agood president, replied, ''No, I don't.'' Why not? ''Because she's aDemocrat. I don't agree with her philosophically and from a policystandpoint.'' Cheney, who has ruled out running for president in therace to replace President George W Bush, said he did not think Clintonwould win, but refused to speculate on who might be elected to theWhite House.

His comments followed an opinion piece by his daughter, LizCheney, in The Washington Post on Tuesday that accused Clinton oflacking backbone on Iraq.
