BJP cries foul on hydel projects implementation

Itanagar, Jan 25 (UNI) The BJP in Arunachal Pradesh has expressed resentment over the state government decision to invite proposal from bidders for implementation of two hydro electric projects in East Kameng district.

Opposition leader Kameng Dolo and MLA Tani Loffa while opposing the government's decision to invite proposal from bidders for implementation of 600 mw Kameng Dam hydro electric project and 125 mw Dibin project, said that both the projects were under survey and investigation by the North East Electrical Power Corporation (NEEPCO).

''We welcome the government decision for developmental activities but strongly oppose such kind of arbitrary decision in a democratic set up undermining the sentiments of the public representatives in particular and people in general'', both the BJP MLAs said in a statement.

The public representatives should be taken into confidence before initiating such developmental projects, the statement said adding, such wrong policies would invite public resentment instead of cooperation for timely completion of the projects.
