Arms and ammuniation seized, two arrested

Mumbai, Jan 25 (UNI) Two persons were arrested by city police for possessing arms and ammunition near Shyadri Nagar bus stop, Charkop in western suburban.

As per the information received by Charkop police, Anuo Jaidevkumar Raut (27) and Shalad Shipahi Giri (30), who were possessing illegal weapons, were coming to Shyadri Nagar bus stop at around 1730 hrs yesterday to deliver the weapons to a party.

Police laid a trap and nabbed both of them red-handed, while Kailash Ashok Tiwari, their associate managed to escape from the scene.

Police have seized one country made pistol, one revolver and three live cartridges from their possession.

They were booked for illegal possession of arms under Arms Act, the police added.
