13 candidates withdraw nomination papers for first phase elections
Imphal, Jan 25 (UNI) Altogether 77 candidates are in the fray for nineteen seats in Manipur's first phase assembly elections to be held on February 8.
State election department today said after withdrawal of thirteen candidates from contest yesterday, last day of withdrawal, there are altogether 77 candidates are in the fray for nineteen seats spraeding over three districts of Thoubal, Senapati and Ukhrul.
Meanwhile, all elections observers for February eight elections have arrived here to oversee the poll process.
Meanwhile, the United Naga Council, Manipur, has asked all those candidates who were not projected by it to withdrew their candidatures.
