Bomb explosion at Kodambakkam, Chennai

Chennai, Jan 24: A 45-year-old woman was injured in a bomb explosion at Kodambakkam in the city early today.

According to police, Beema Beevi was injured when a bomb kept in the house accidentally exploded.

The woman was admitted to the Government Stanlay Hospital.

Police said the woman, who met her son Syed Mastan in the Central Prison, Madurai, a couple of days back told her that he had hidden a bomb in the house and asked his mother to throw away the explosive object.

Mastan is in the Central Prison in connection with a bomb blast case during the recent bypolls to the Madurai Central Assembly constituency, police added.
