Six candidates file for second phase elections

Imphal, Jan 24 (UNI) Six candidates have so far submitted their nomination papers for the second phase of assembly elections scheduled for February 14.

State Election Office sources said about 90 candidates were in the fray for the first phase of polls to the Manipur assembly on February 8.

The final tally for the second phase will be known after January 27, the last date for filing of nomination papers, sources added.

They said adequate security arrangement had been made at the offices of the DC, Imphal West, Imphal East and Bishenpur where the nomination papers were filed.
