Rehearsal ends for final performance on R-Day in Jammu
Jammu, Jan 24 (UNI) Maulana Azad Stadium in the city today witnessed the full dress rehearsal of the Republic Day Parade under a thick security blanket, while the administration claimed to have made all necessary arrangements for the civilians to attend the celebrations on January 26.
Security and intelligence services have been put on a high alert to foil any attempt by the anti-national elements.
The state police and para-military personnel have been deployed at all the strategic positions around the stadium, where Governor Lt Gen S K Sinha will unfurl the National Flag and take salute of the marching contingents.
The local police and civil administration have appealed to all the citizens, via advertising in newspapers, to grace the occasion in large numbers.
At least 12 contingents of Army, BSF, CRPF, JKAP, auxiliary police, fire services, ex-servicemen, NCC cadets and school children will take part in the march past.
Special transport arrangements, route diversions and parkings have been made to facilitate people to reach the venue.
