Prohibitory Orders imposed in Malappuram
Malappuram, Jan 24 (UNI) Authorities today imposed Prohibitory Orders in Tirur, Thanur and Kalpakancherry following retaliatory attacks by two groups of people in the district.
Police said the Prohibitory Orders under Kerala Police Act 2123 had been imposed for five days as attacks by unidentified assailants continued in the locality.
Police also took out a ''routemarch'' in Tirur where many persons were attacked during the last two days.
Stating that the situation was under control, IGP North M N Krishnamoorthy said a large force was camping in the locality to check any untoward incident.
The locality became tense after a RSS activist was murdered in Tirur a few days ago.
