NABARD allots Rs 478.85 crores for rural development in Bihar
Patna, Jan 24 (UNI) The NABARD has sanctioned Rs 478.85 crores loan to Bihar for development of rural infrastructure.
Deputy General Manager NABARD Dinesh Kumar told newsmen here yesterday that the total fund provided under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) sums to Rs 589.79 crores during the current fiscal.
He said Rs 396.70 crore had been allotted to construct 22,285 anganwadi centres and 420 godown cum project office in all 38 districts of the state as earlier hey were operating from rented houses.
He further informed that the godown cum project buildings would be used to store nutritional suppliments, fortified candies, vitamin A and iron suppliments, medicines and vaccines besides public materials for creating awareness.
About Rs 76.32 crore had been allocated to construct 78 roads in the first phase with total length of 359.20 km in 20 districts thus providing connectivity to 339 villages and 127 marketing centres, Mr Kumar added.
Besides, Rs 5.83 had been sanctioned for 16 surface water minor irrigation schemes.
