Bhopal, Jan 24 (UNI) As a part of its expansion plans in India, Microsoft Corporation is opening up a new office in Madhya Pradesh's Indore besides five other cities in the country taking up its presence to 13 cities.

The expansion strategy -- includes direct sales infrastructure, broadening partner eco-system and market education initiative and programmes -- will help the company and its partners to tap small and mid-market segments, according to a press release today.

''Small and medium business are playing a key role in driving India's growth. We remain committed to help them utilise technology for empowering their people, address consumer needs better and streamline their businesses. Our presence in these cities will achieve this much more effectively,'' Microsoft India's Managing Director Neelam Dhawan was quoted as stating in the release.

Besides Indore, new office would be opened up in Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Chandigarh, Cochin and Coimbatore.
