Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Jan 24 (UNI) The MIDC Waluj police here today arrested a Bajaj Auto Limited (BAL) manager and two others for allegedly cheating the company of Rs one crore while making purchases of spare parts last month.

Police inspector Dnyanoba Munde said the manager, Deepak Ghorpade, and two others -- Pandurang Desai and Anand Kardekar -- were booked under sections 406 and 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). They were arrested following a complaint lodged by the company late last evening.

According to the complaint, Ghorpade and the two others had allegedly downloaded the goods outside the company premises and sold the same in the market. The manager had sanctioned bills without actually receiving the spare-parts, according to the complaint.

The complaint has been lodged by BAL security manager Pravin Chandratre on behalf of the company.
