Bangalore, Jan 24 (UNI) LifeKen Health care Private Limited, a leading player in organised pharmacy retail, today announced that it had chosen Oracle Retail Applications to centralise and integrate retail operations.

Disclosing this to newsmen here, LifeKen Chief Executive Officer M C Kini said that the solution, to be the backbone of LifeKen's aggressive scale up plans, was being implemented by Oracle Advance Certified Partner Tata Consultancy Services and was expected to go live in March.

Adoption of the solution would now allow faster roll out of stores, greater control over business processes and a dynamic view of the business in real time. It has also given the company a flexibility to expand with the support of a world class technology platform for the company's scale up plan of expanding to 700 stores from the present 63 in next three years, he added saying that nearly one third of it would be located in Karnataka.

Oracle's Retail Centre of Excellence Head Jay Bhow, who was also present, said the solution would help achieve a streamlined and consolidated operational and financial infrastructure. The solution was used by 17 of the top 20 global retailers, he added. Oracle's Retail Business Head Mukesh Mathur, replying to a question, said the market size of the sector was around US dollars 320 billion and was growing at the rate of 15 per cent to 18 per cent a year. However, the organised market was around only four per cent and was expected to cross 10 per cent by 2010.
