JK Council passes two bills
Jammu, Jan 24 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council today sent back a bill seeking amendment in Jammu and Kashmir State Ranbir Penal Code which was cleared by Lower House to Assembly Secretariat for certain corrections.
The Upper House also passed two bills which have already been passed by the Assembly.
A bill regarding amendment in Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination Act 2002 (L.A. Bill No.1 of 2007) as passed by the Assembly was passed with two amendments moved by Ashok Shamra.
The bill to amend the J&K State Ranbir Penal Code, Samvat 1989,the Code of Criminal Procedure, Samvat 1989, and the Evidence Act, Samvat 1977( L.A. Bill No. 2 of 2007) as passed by Assembly has been sent back to Assembly Secretariat.
A third bill to provide for regulating the quality of saffron and to ensure its genuineness for sale and export and for matters connected there with or incidental thereto. (L.A.Bill No.2 of 2006) as passed by the Assembly second time was passed by Legislative Council.
