Indore, Jan 24 (UNI) From regional trade activities to global supplies, and from being the sole supplier to the Indian Government mints to being the sole supplier of coin blanks to the largest mint in the world, Indore-based Mittal Appliances has registered its global presence.

''Besides exporting coins to other countries Mittal Group has been supplying Rs 2 coin blanks for Indian government mints. Now, it will supply Rs 10 coin blanks soon,'' Mittal Group Director (Marketing) Ankit Mittal told mediapersons during an informal talk here today.

He said the state-of-the-art plant at Pithampur -- established in 2002 near Indore -- boasts of technological advancements and significant production capacities. Recent initiatives has aided Mittal Group to become the first Indian company to export minted coins in 2003.

Besides India, now the coin minted by the company were making their presence in Britain, Canada, Malaysia and Thailand.

On completion of its 100 years, Mittal Group has released a calendar on more than two and half century's golden era of coins.

''Coins as a concept was mooted in 7th century BC. It is an essence of life today. Mittal Group is proud to be a successful part of this essence,'' he said, adding that the calendar was a journey through times, traditions and technological advancements.

Be it the Nishka or the contemporary bimetallic coins, every coin style is a delineation of the dynamics of the world civilisation.

The minting technologies had also evolved in this period, from hitting a hammer on an anvil to production of cast coinage, from screw presses to modern high-speed automatic presses, all a rich heritage of the coining glory.

Plastic money and e-transactions had in no way diminished the tranquil clink of freshly minted coins, he added.

Mittal Group pioneered the branded cookware business in India in the early 1950s. Today, the group's subsidiary Mittal Udyog is the country's largest manufacturer of high quality aluminium cookware and the brand ''Bulbul'' is regarded as the insulator standard. The group is now aggressively making inroads into international cookware markets.
