IAS officer charge-sheeted in MP
Ratlam, MP, Jan 24 (UNI) The Lokayukta Police today submitted a chargesheet against a senior IAS officer for allegedly bypassing the rules while alloting a 30,000 square-feet plot to a businessman, Lokayukta sources said.
Vinod Semwal, who was District Collector at Ratlam and also the Chairman of Town Improvement Trust, allotted the land, belonging to the City Centre to one Vinod Parikh.
Local resident, Deepak complained to the Lokayukta alleging corruption and other irregularities in the deal.
Mr Manoj Jhalani, who served as Ratlam's District Collector later, also submitted a report to the Lokayukta. His request to prosecute Semwal has been pending with the state governemnt for long now.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court ruled that public servants may be charge-sheeted sans prior permission from governments, assemblies or departments concerned.
Mr Semwal is presently posted as the Inspector-General (Registration).
