Former JMM legislator passes away

Jamshedpur, Jan 24 (UNI) Former Jharkhand Mukti Morcha(JMM) legislator Hadi Ram Sardar died at the Gurunanak hospital in Ranchi yesterday following a prolonged illness.

Mr Sardar was 56 and is survived by wife, two sons and a daughter.

He was cremated at his ancestral village Chakri in East Singhbhum district today.

Mr Sardar won from Potka assembly constituency in 1990 and 1995 with a JMM ticket.

Meanwhile, JMM vice-president and Seraikella MLA Champai Soren condoled the untimely demise of Mr Sardar. He said the departed leader was a great fighter and had consolidated the movement for the creation of a separate Jharkhand.
