Kolkata, Jan 24 (UNI) Faced with a stiff opposition in acquisition of land for industry, the CPI(M) in West Bengal today decided to continue an ''intense and patient'' political campaign at the grassroot to counter the combined ''rightist and ultra left forces''.

The party's state committee that met here for the first time after the Nandigram incidents, took stock of the situation and reviewed the progress of pro-industry campaign among the people launched on January 15.

Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, who was present at the meeting, explained his Government's development plans as the party members observed that the opposition forces were trying to create disturbance to hinder the state's development.

'' The right reactionary and ultra left forces, besides groups of vested interest have joined together to take up aggressive programmes to mislead the poor people. The party workers have to continue intense and patient campaign to frustrate this conspiracy, '' the state committee said in a press statement.

Observing that in some places the Opposition forces were even trying to exploit political identity of the people, the party resolved that full efforts must be given to implement the declared programmes for industrialisation in the Left Front manifesto for the last Assembly election.

The meeting decided to carry out pro-industry campaign in every locality of all districts and towns till February 28 and continue it till March 15 in East Midnapore district.

The CPI(M) would also observe ''Nandigram day'' on January 27 and raise fund for the families of workers, killed in violence over land acquisition.

The party's peasants wing would also hold a mass rally in the city on March 11 in support of industrialisation.
