Congress to petition Governor for Judicial probe

Bangalore, Jan 24 (UNI) The Congress will petition Karnataka Governor J N Chaturvedi against the outright rejection by the State government of its demand for a judicial probe into the January 21 incident in which a 12-year-old boy was killed in police firing and several others sustained injuries.

Talking to newspersons here, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President Mallikarjuna Kharge said the party would submit a memorandum to the Governor.

Holding RSS and its frontal organisations responsible for the violence, Mr Kharge alleged that the ''RSS was now blaming the Congress for the widespread violence in certain parts of the City.'' Criticising the RSS for organising the Hindu Samajothsav, Mr Kharge alleged that it was held to divide the Society on communal basis.
