Raipur, Jan 24 (UNI) After the resignation of Finance Minister Amar Agrawal, senior leaders of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party have gone into a huddle in an effort to mend the rift in the Dr Raman Singh ministry.

Party leaders, including former union minister Ramesh Bais, reached the state party headquarters and were in touch with senior state leaders to resolve the political impasse.

Chief minister Raman Singh confirmed that the Finance Minister had submitted a letter to party general secretary Ram Pratap Singh.

''He had left an envelope with the general secretary. But I am yet to receive it,'' he added.

Meanwhile, Mr Agrawal refused to confirm or deny whether he had submitted his resignation.

''I think you should ask the Chief Minister, as he will be in a better position to answer this question,'' he added.
